Biography
Philippe Minyana was born in 1946 and always wanted to be involved in the theatre, originally as an actor. He soon yields to his taste for writing. He meets Robert Cantarella who produces his first plays in the 80's – many more stage directors will follow. Cantarella invited him as associate playwright at the Dijon CDN [National Centre for Drama] whose director he then was. Minyana also writes librettos for the opera. In 2006, his play La Maison des morts [The House of the Dead] is produced by the Comédie-Française at the théâtre du Vieux-Colombier. Two of his works, Inventaire [Inventory] and Chambres [Rooms] belong to the syllabus of the baccalauréat for pupils specializing in drama studies.
