Fabrice Melquiot and David Lescot will participate fully in the Théâtre de la Ville’s overall project: together with guest writers, they will launch throughout the season  all manner of encounters and exchanges with the different kinds of audiences. There will be sessions of writing experiments, performing events, workshops, debates and public readings. Specific themes will be tackled: how to better enjoy fiction, how to better grasp reality, or others such as: what can one write about here and now? What can one say of our times? How can one represent those times? Is it possible to reconcile the loneliness of the writer with the sharing of experiences?

This Artistic Ensemble brings together the collaborators who have been working with Emmanuel Demarcy-Mota for nearly ten years, from the Théâtre des Millefontaines Company, via the Comédie de Reims (CDN/ National Drama Centre) for seven years, to the Théâtre de la Ville today. We share the constant need for periods of research, a kind of laboratory work, providing the possibility to explore in full a writer’s work and to reflect on the forms of representation and interpretation, they say. Based now at the Théâtre de la Ville, the Artistic Ensemble will devise, alongside the season’s productions, smaller formats to be shown outside the main houses so as to meet new audiences in and around Paris.
