Née en Argentine, Lisi Estaràs a participé depuis 1997 aux principales créations des Ballets C. de la B., avec Alain Platel et Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. Dans Patchagonia, sa première grande pièce, se retrouvent cinq personnages et trois musiciens en quête d’un « état de bonheur absolu et éternel ». Tous les accents nostalgiques de l’espoir fou y dansent de guingois : à quoi s’affairer quand on n’a rien d’autre à faire que rêver à la terre promise ? Jean-Marc Adolphe |
Lisi Estaràs was born in Argentina and has been involved in the main creations of les Ballets C de la B’ with Alain Platel and Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui since 1997. ‘Patchagonia’, her first masterpiece, depicts five characters and three musicians in quest of a ‘state of eternal, true and complete happiness’. All the nostalgic signs of an unreasonable hope are embodied in a lop-sided dance. What can keep you busy when you have nothing left but your dreams about the Promised Land ? Jean-Marc Adolphe |
