“Revolution and Democracy: the Carnation Recall”

Starting from 18h / Espace Cardin
“Revolution and Democracy: the Carnation Recall” exhibition’s opening & “Dome-Migration 2” opening, followed by Tiago Fereira’s live drum session.
This unique evening will be held in celebration of Mário Soares, who has been a major artisan of the advent of democracy in Portugal as well as of its European integration.

Tuesday 2 May from 18:00 to 23:00
At a time when Europe’s future is at stake, Chantiers d’Europe 8th edition starts with a gaze on the Carnation Revolution which on April 25, 1974, in Portugal, overthrew the longest dictatorship in Europe. Forty years later it is more than ever necessary to recall the ethical values of this revolution: freedom, democracy, solidarity, social justice and to continue to defend them. During the exhibition, organized by the Museum of Aljube - Resistance and Freedom in Lisbon, posters dating back to the revolutionary period, documentary films, photographs, stories and other testimonies … will invade all of Espace Cardin.

Good Chance Theatre

LE DÔME – Migration 2

Good Chance Theatre built its first temporary theatre in the heart of the refugee and migrant camp in Calais in September 2015. The large geodesic dome structure was brought to life each day for seven months with art of all forms made by and for the refugees themselves.
During Chantiers d’Europe Good Chance Theatre will build its temporary theatre in the gardens of Theatre de la Ville-Espace Cardin, as part of a living migration of art all across the city.
