PianoSong is a commission of fiteen pieces for piano solo composed as so many echoes of “hits” ranging from the sixties to the present time. To open and close my recital I will play Alessio’s India Song which begins with the words “You, meaningless song…” With tunes from Barbara to Michael Jackson, via Henri Salvador or Madonna, this creation gives me the opportunity to bring together in the same programme two different genres that had drifted apart, contemporary music and songs, which I equally cherish.
