Délire à deux [Frenzy for two]  creation

WARS AND PEACE
To end any war, between peoples or between individuals, one constant question must be answered: who started it?

There you are: An old couple engaged in a domestic scene abouth nothing and everything. That is also a way to still find something to talk about after so many years of common life; a way to close one's ears to the turmoil outside, to the din of a world at war. But war has the upper hand. It bursts in on the old couple and everything around them crumbles down. They will have to wait for peace to resume their feud.
In this play premièred in 1962, Ionesco unravels the difficulty to live together, inside a couple, and in relation to others generally, while pretending that what goes on in the outside world does not matter. This is the story of perpetual hesitating between renouncement and resistance.
Christophe Feutrier considers the world at war to be a third character, made of sound, fury and music. "What if the intimate quarrel inside was the cause of the atrocious war outside?", he wonders. How can we dream fo peace if we are unable to hear each other, not even to listen to each other
