El Final de este estado de cosas, Redux
Since 2005, this Sevillan has imposed a relaxed, paradoxical flamenco, unorthodox in the extreme, Between sensual hip undulation and restrained movements, crackling bursts and almost dreamlike pauses, his taste for liberty finds new stylistic support. It is also present in the choice of his themes. For his new piece El final de este estado de cosas, redux [The End of the Present State of Things, Redux], he stages the Apocalypse, of which he offers a compressed reading. From his experience and flamenco's specific tools, Galvan seizes certain revelations of the book to brandish a sound alternative to the end of the world prediction. The spirit of flamenco and that of the Apocalypse meet at an unusual crossroads called Galvan. For this production - his most ambitious since the creation of his company in 1998 - Israel Galvan, who likes to say that his style first answers a very personal need of expression, is backed by eleven musicians.
