Dapper violins From Northern Europe, three girls and two boys, a fearless group of young Norwegian violinists celebrate the tenth anniversary of their foundation. With the stamina of youth they feed musical traditions first learned by ear with the masters of their respective native regions. Later, later only, did they get a classical training. Thanks to their virtuoso skill they perpetuate the tradition, yet they are so inventive that they nurture it with their creations. And so it lives on. Majorstuen have woven a well-balanced repertoire, combining melancholy old ditties or energetic folk dances with sprightly original compositions. Overflowing with charm, humour and energy, their music is well worth listening to… and watching! Assuredly the stage vibrates with their presence. Music from the North is still to be discovered for the sheer pleasure of exploring promising new territories. Exoticism is also at hand in Europe.
