Four pieces and two programmes. The great Master will always surprise us and fill us with wonder.

There have been few long pieces in Cunningham’s work and Roaratorio, which entirely composes the second programme, is exceptional (from this single point of view.It was created in 1983, and performed in1985 at the Avignon Festival in the "cour d’honneur" of the Popes' palace while John Cage was alive (those who saw that performance still remember it). It is a vibrant manifesto of the sea-like bodies associated with a reading of James Joyce’s Finnegans Wake, with bouts of Irish jigs. The piece has never been presented in Paris yet. It is an extraordinary poetic chaos with the excessiveness of all things Cunningham passed down to the dancing art which outlived him.
