Mi vida después
WHAT FUTURE? They sing, they tell stories, they talk about their country, its past, its fate, they are full of rage and laughter. They come from Argentina.
Mi vidua después, that is to say”my life after”: after, once Argentina’s fate is finally determined. Who knows, anything could happen! So, Lola Arias and her team, all of them, including herself, actors, musicians and on occasion dancers, probe their country’s fate in the 70’s and 80’s, years of chaos, of coups, the years when all of them were born. And everyone wonders: what were my parents doing then? Who were they? They all go on a quest, dig into memories, bring photos, clothes, videos... They all reconstitute their real family history, uncover the secrets and things unspoken, try and find the truth about sudden and definitive disparitions, about this father who was a policeman, with a nice face and a nice policeman moustache... They all probe the times of the fathers to dream of the times of the sons, in a delirium both desperate and furious. Meanwhile a child runs across the stage strewn with clothes, with life’s debris. Oscillating between the real and the unreal, this story comes from Buenos Aires, the city of things great, where everything is possible. Colette Godard
