Paula Rosolen Choreographer

Aerobics! Un ballet en 3 Actes

THE ART OF FITNESS
HIGH KICKS AND ARM LIFTS. A QUARTER OF A CENTURY AFTER THE TV SHOW GYM TONIC, PAULA ROSOLEN TRANSFORMS AEROBICS INTO  CHOREOGRAPHIC MATERIAL.

Help! Véronique and Davina are back… Have you already forgotten these legendary personalities from the 80s TV show Gym Tonic? You can count on the German choreographer Paula Rosolen to refresh your memory… In June 2014, the Danse Élargie audience saw a battalion of five dancers roll out in sneakers, shorts and t-shirts in an assortment of colours ranging from bright yellow to purple, facing the audience in a chain of high kicks and arm lifts. Their perfect synchronism and a zest for mischievous humour was enough to win the Danse Élargie first prize. In three acts for seven dancers, Paula Rosolen has now developed her work and created AEROBICS!, the first “fitness ballet” in the history of dance.
