A major artist in Angola for about twenty years, Paulo Flores’s art feeds on his country's urban tradition. He also explores the paths of the African and Portuguese-speaking worlds. It has been said that his slightly husky voice "makes people dance on a land soaked in tears, facing an ocean of hope". It also makes one dream and think as poetic texts infused with social awareness follow one another. In 2009, Excombatentes, his triple CD, "reflect[ed] an art of surviving in Angola and of living in the world". He is "the voice of those without a voice".
