Pina Bausch’s creation is like a constantly renewed offering ; like an incredibly generous pagan ritual, whose mesmerizing saraband sows the seeds of true humaneness, both fragile and  cosmic. It is an offering to the audience. It is an offering to the dancers who, from the most experienced ones to the newcomers, have created the legend of the Tanztheater Wuppertal thanks to intense bodily work. Finally, it is an offering to the manifold horizons, grounds and  landscapes we come across when we wander in real life or in our dreams. The scenographies  created by Peter Pabst, who is a true graphic artist for settings, sometimes seem to have been taken straight from nature itself : a huge rock which might have  fallen right into the bed of a river in Vollmond, or a black lava flow by the seaside in Masurca Fogo. In these two pieces, stone and water are the elements between which the performers will build up their nomadic dance, blazing and full of energy. Thirty years after her first visit to the Theatre de la Ville, the fire is still burning.
