Shahid Parvez, one of the greatest contemporary sitar players, is none other than Vilayat Khan's nephew. And that is saying everything. He has dedicated his life to the art of the sitar as much as to the utmost respect for the raga-s, with the deepest humility, following the style of the Gharana of Etawa (famous for their search for the purity of sound), in which he represents the seventh generation. He puts this eminently lyric style to the exclusive service of the raga-s, leading us to penetrate its mysteries as if by enchantment.He is accompanied by Anuradha Pal, a tabla player of the very first order, a disciple of Alla Rakha and of his son Zakir Hussain.
