International Projects

The Théâtre de la Ville has developed collaborative partnerships with international theaters, and for the current season will continue developing close links with the Teatro della Pergola in Italy, in Florence, as well as with many partners not only in Europe, but also in Asia and Africa.
AN INITIATIVE OF THE THÉÂTRE DE LA VILLE IN PARIS WITH THE TEATRO DELLA PERGOLA IN FLORENCE, ITALY
The Théâtre de la Ville and the Teatro della Pergola have been working on a collaborative approach for four years now, including the period of the French presidency of the Council of the European Union, advocating a New Alliance of European Theaters intended to build, invent and challenge, using the strength of culture and the arts as a shared domain of human experience, fully involved in the 21st century and embracing all generations. Their vision is for the shared values enshrined in the “18-XX1 Charter” that stands as the basis for new forms of collaboration between cultural institutions and disciplines, embracing the sciences, the arts, culture and education. A number of cultural entities across Europe have expressed interest in this new approach (e.g. in Greece, Estonia, Belgium, Romania, Kosovo, Croatia, Spain, Italy and Germany).
IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE CITÉ INTERNATIONALE UNIVERSITAIRE DE PARIS
An international call for projects is for students with a project planned in the field of the arts or civic engagement and which endorses the values set down in the 18-XX1 Charter.
A number of key events focusing on the younger generation and the 18-XX1 Charter will be held as part of the “Chantiers d’Europe” program featuring performances with clear commitment from artists throughout Europe and will provide the perfect setting to bring members of the younger generation together for trans-European dialogue.
