An encounter between Israel Galván, the organ and spirituality, a dialogue with the naves of the Salpêtrière Chapel. How will the chapel respond to his flamenco?
For Israel Galván, the term “solo” does not state the form, but one specific work, freely deploying and developing, going to inner depths and to the essence of flamenco with its complex history and galaxy. Usually a bailaor will dialogue with vocalists and instrumentalists, but Galván’s body becomes his orchestra. With his Solo coming to life at the Salpêtrière Chapel, he will embark on a philosophical and rhythmic interchange with the stone and the spirituality of the site, and even with the neo-baroque organ played by the internationally renowned master Benjamin Alard. The number eight for 8 Solos 8 is the number of naves radiating in star formation in the chapel, and extends the imagination of the great artist towards infinity.
