Jean-Michel Ribes calls on sometimes forgotten figures who used laughter to fight that cholesterol of the imagination: seriousness. This zany breath of fresh air thumbs its nose at the tyranny of good taste and rigid morals. It is a kind of patchwork of speech and song, woven from the absurd and unexpected humour of figures like Queneau, Topor, Vialatte, Jarry, Allais, Cavanna and Ribes himself. With dazzling flights of eloquence and disruptive mischievousness, Ribes takes us on a lighthearted expedition through byways of humour to unexplored horizons.
