Jérôme Bel and Lyon Opera Ballet travel through dance history in an inspiring split.
At the invitation of Lyon Opera Ballet, Jérôme Bel conceived a special programme composed by three pieces mutually echoing each other. Drawing on the company repertoire, he chose to open the evening with William Forsythe's "Second Detail", followed by Trisha Brown's "Set And Reset/Reset". His own piece will close the evening. Thus, Jérôme Bel intends to put into perspective the history of dance, being understood that William Forsythe is considered as a certain model of classical dance, of XIX century then, and Trisha Brown of XX century modernity. The issue for the choreographer will be to see how, starting from these two masterpieces, his dancers can push further, in the XXI century, the history that these two amazing artists contributed to write.
