Martine Pisani’s world is playful, poetic, and generous. Discover it through a piece that distills the essence of twenty years of her work.
The title "Undated" evokes a blend of eau de vies without a vintage, liqueurs from various years, producing harmonious, subtle, and profound flavors. This is how Martine Pisani proceeded in drawing inspiration from some fifteen of her pieces over a period of twenty years, with ten dancers who have participated in her emblematic and essential—though discreet—trajectory through French dance. For her first piece at the Théâtre de la Ville, Pisani explores the very essence of her body of work. She intends to mix periods and personalities, reinvestigate the original gambit of each show, call into question the costumes, key situations, gestures, states, and attitudes of the original productions revisited here, from "Là où nous sommes" to "Rien n’est établi", often inspired by philosophical or scientific reflection. A beautiful maturation, to be savored as soon as possible.
