Sahar Mohammadi, one of the most beautiful voices in classical singing, and Haig Sarikoujoumdjian, a young duduk virtuoso, were destined to meet. They have in common a youthfulness avid for discovering new experiences without letting go of their traditions. Both display an extreme sensitivity, whether with the voice or the fingers, that is perfectly suited to the repertoire of a modal music largely open to improvisation. Invited to the Saint-Cloud Festival in 2018, they discovered that they were a natural and spontaneous musical match. For the first time, they will share a stage at the Abbesses, which has previously hosted them individually in Paris. The gentle, melancholy tones of the duduk, the double reed woodwind emblematic of Armenia, will meld with the languorous laments of Persian poetry in perfect unison.
