PREAMBULE
Théâtre de la Ville – Sarah Bernhardt and Abbesses – is a public venue open to everyone, dedicated to artistic creation, transmission, and shared experience.
It operates within a public service mission founded on accessibility, freedom of creation, and respect for works, artists, and audiences.
Each spectator is welcomed in accordance with these principles. This Charter sets out the essential rules ensuring the smooth running of performances, the safety of everyone, and the quality of the collective experience.
Access to the auditoriums and attendance at performances implies full acceptance of this Cer, as well as of Théâtre de la Ville’s General Terms and Conditions of Sale.
RESPECT FOR SCHEDULES AND ADMISSION CONDITIONS
• Performances start at the time indicated on tickets and communication materials.
• Spectators are advised to arrive at least fifteen minutes before the performance begins.
• Admission after the start of the performance is not guaranteed and may be refused by front-of-house staff, without refund or exchange.
• At the announced time, auditorium doors may be closed. Audience reseating may be carried out to optimize seating and allow for latecomers, without disturbing other spectators. If late entry is exceptionally permitted, it will take place at a moment approved by the artistic team and under the conditions indicated by staff, with no guarantee of access to the numbered seat purchased, even during an intermission.
• Any delay results in the definitive loss of the original seat for the entire duration of the performance.
These rules are recalled on the back of tickets and e-tickets.
CONDUCT DURING THE PERFORMANCE
• Silence, attentive listening, and discretion are required throughout the performance.
• The use of mobile phones, cameras, recording devices, or any form of recording equipment is strictly prohibited.
• Any behavior likely to disrupt the performance (talking, inappropriate gestures or movements, consumption of food or drinks, use of luminous devices, etc.) is prohibited.
• Théâtre de la Ville staff are authorized to intervene and, where appropriate, to ask any person who does not comply with these rules to leave the auditorium, without any possibility of refund.
RESPECT FOR STAFF, ARTISTS, AND OTHER SPECTATORS
• The smooth running of performances relies on mutual trust and respect between audiences, artists, and all staff members
• Any insulting, aggressive, threatening, or discriminatory behavior toward anyone is strictly prohibited.
• Such conduct will result in immediate removal from the auditorium and may lead to notification of the competent authorities.
SAFETY AND INTEGRITY OF THE PREMISES
• For safety reasons, and in accordance with regulations applicable to public venues, the introduction of any dangerous or prohibited objects is strictly forbidden.
• Safety instructions and staff directions must be followed at all times.
• Any damage caused to buildings, equipment, or installations may result in invoicing and legal action.
POWER OF EXCLUSION, REFUSAL OF ACCESS, AND SANCTIONS
In order to ensure the safety of the public and staff and the proper conduct of performances, the Management of Théâtre de la Ville exercises internal policing authority, in accordance with Article L.613-3 of the French Internal Security Code.
FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS CHARTER MAY RESULT, UNDER THE CONDITIONS SET OUT IN THE GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE, IN :
• refusal of entry to the venue; • immediate expulsion, including during a performance, without refund ; • temporary suspension or permanent ban from the auditoriums; • temporary or permanent prohibition on purchasing tickets; • administrative or criminal penalties in the event of unlawful conduct.
SUCH MEASURES MAY BE TAKEN IN PARTICULAR IN CASES OF:
• serious disruption of a performance,
• threats or assaults against staff or spectators,
• dangerous or discriminatory behavior, damage to equipment,
• serious or repeated violations of admission and safety rules.
The duration and nature of these measures are determined in proportion to the seriousness of the established facts.
INCIDENT MANAGEMENT AND PERSONAL DATA
Any incident may be subject to a report or internal record drawn up by authorized staff.
Lnformation strictly necessary for managing the incident and preventing future disturbances may be retained in compliance with applicable personal data protection regulations (GDPR).
DATA ARE:
• limited to what is necessary,
• kept for a proportionate period,
• accessible only to authorized persons.
