Description
On the stage of a theater in the middle of a rehearsal, six characters appear, six strangers that nobody expected...

Out of nowhere, they invade the stage where rehearsals for a play are underway. They are the 'characters', born from the imagination of an author who has abandoned them in the middle of their lives. They meet the actors that will impersonate them. An unsolvable, perilous confrontation between their authenticity and its possible representations. A crossing of the theater to the very depths of its foundations. Emmanuel Demarcy-Mota and his actors first staged Pirandello's play in 2001, with great success, as it has since been performed with the same cast in twenty countries around the world and continues this ongoing journey.

Press excerpts
Le Figaro

Demarcy has the gift of embellishing everything he touches; he returns Pirandello his fury, his mystery. If you are moved to tears (real tears, please), it is because you have suddenly discovered a magnificent work.

San Francisco Chronicle

A deeply moving, incredibly breathtaking creation, carried by magnificent performers.

Télérama

Emmanuel Demarcy-Mota magnifies all the magic of the stage to also show its murderous abyss. Bewitching and disturbing.
