For one night Espace Cardin becomes a Greek tavern. It’s pretty unusual to have the chance to listen to rebetiko. Yet, it’s like blues or tango: a socially and historically deeply rooted music. Born in 1922, with the exodus of Greeks from Turkey, we find it prisons and opium dens, where you can meet rebetiko singers. It’s the music of melancholy, of inebriation, of dance; it’s the music of the night.
