Back to basics: a poetic cinema, naive and wonderful, built before our eyes, re-emerges in its original form, the one that founded the Stereoptik saga.
STEREOPTIK goes back to its first charcoal drawing projected onto a white page that has become a screen. Creative and resourceful Romain Bermond and Jean-Baptiste Maillet celebrate their duet’s tenth anniversary with the re-creation of “Stereoptik”, the story that gave them their name. With “Les congés payés”, “Les costumes trop grands” and “Dark Circus” STEREOPTIK’s plastic techniques and musical influences have multiplied, but the principle remains the same for these “cinema without film” virtuosos: gesture and music creating and animating images before the audience’s eyes. Super heroes, jazz singers and aliens mingle here with the dreams of two silhouettes leaving the big city as our gaze sometimes quits the history to grasp the clever source of its wonder on stage.
