XIITH TO XIXTH CENTURY MUSIC
The nail violin, the organistrum (hurdy-gurdy’s ancestor), the serpent, the Jew’s harp, the horn flute… All of these instruments had disappeared, sometimes centuries ago. Robert Mandel and his musicians dug them out, restored them and got reacquainted with them. They also rediscovered or rebuilt their original repertoire to bring it to our astounded and amazed contemporary ears.
