It may not be “what you see is what you get” with the punk choreographer from Buenos Aires able to laugh at her own expense.
Perched on the edge of the stage, a choreographer calls in five male sex symbols, clad only in black boots and knee braces. To music either explosive or sentimental, they indulge in leather and latex eroticism both burlesque and electrifying. Facing them, Marina Otero tells the story of her life, her career, being incapacitated and unable to dance. It is a story of family and of art, presented with home-made videos and including the history of Argentina, from the dictatorship to the present. A work within a work, a slightly diabolical work, on the relationship between memory, the body and the stage.
