TWO WINNERS FROM THE PAST, FOR A MIRROR GAME WITH A BEAT AND A COMMUNITY LINK.
Mithkal Alzghair is a political refugee in France, and he is a poet and seismograph of the body, of the body in transition where each movement conveys a stance. He lets recollections from the past cross through him, as well as hopes and aspirations for burdens to be lifted from migrants who have to contend with power, laws and war. And he asks questions: Which human state is involved in the shift from one way of life to another, to an utterly different way of living. Dalila Belaza dances a bourrée, where the beat provides the thread. Moving on from from her previous work, Au Cœur, with a traditional ensemble from the Aveyron region, she challenges otherness and states of transcendence, in timeless, planetary intensity with ten performers dreaming of free ceremonies and the merging of mismatched worlds.
