AN ORIGINAL ENCOUNTER BETWEEN THE EMINENTLY ZEN PURITY OF TAO YE AND THE ARDOR OF SHARON EYAL, TOGETHER WITH 16 MEMBERS OF THE GRAND NEDERLANDS DANS THEATER.

Jakie / 15

The NDT is a worldwide reference for exemplary art and skill in 20th and 21st century dance. To perform original works by Sharon Eyal and Tao Ye, the company takes on the throbbing, hypnotic beat of the star from Israel, plus the flowing, timeless harmonies of the founder of the TAO Dance Theater who is now appearing at the Théâtre de la Ville for the fourth time. The contrasting styles, each one combining perfection of movement with work where individuals coalesce, see the Nederlands Dans Theater taking the audience on an edifying journey between East and West, breathing and exalting essential art. The NDT first appeared at the Théâtre de la Ville in 1969, it was the first season when the theater opened after renovations.
