The generation in their twenties enter the dance. A multiplicity of origins and approaches does not prevent a keen sense of being together.
In the density and complexity of today's choreographic landscape, the 1|2|3 program - to be read as solo, duo, trio - acts as an incubator for the new generation. Each year, a dozen emerging choreographers are invited to create freely, with a jury of established artists selecting the most promising. The program is open to all ages, backgrounds and origins, and encourages personal development. Each artist is invited to create a solo, a duet and then a trio, thus completing a decisive journey from the individual to the group, with all the richness of the encounters that goes with it. The program showcases women who assert their multiple identities, their distinctive voice, their difference, not hesitating to draw on cultures not generally associated with their origins.

Prior to and after the performances, residencies were organised by the Théâtre de la Ville-Paris with funding from the Fondation Jacqueline de Romilly/Fondation de France and the Académie des Beaux-Arts, as well as support from the host structures: CNDC d'Angers, Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company, Chaillot-Théâtre national de la danse.
