A FAMILY STORY, OR SCRAPS THEREOF, EACH ONE A TABLEAU OF HEART-RENDING BEAUTY.

The young artist Lisaboa Houbrechts is driven by the urge for beauty, for grand images and musical splendor, alive with grandeur of movement. The family story is traced back to the 1940s and goes through to the 1970s, covering an array of fragments from the past, large and small excerpts where sexual abuse weaves its way from generation to generation. The Bach Oratorio provides the accompaniment while the inner workings of domestic violence and the condemnation of a certain divine image based on male stereotypes come together in tableaux both strange and powerful.
