A WOMAN FACES DOWN ADVERSITY. A BRILLIANT AND ORIGINAL FEMALE ARTIST.
The very definition of flamenco constantly evolving and expanding. With Stans, “stand” in Latin, Ana Pérez brings her own contribution to this changing tradition by evoking the Mater Dolorosa in a fluid and intimate dance, pierced by pain but reaching for redemption. In her suffering and elegance, she is accompanied by virtuoso José Sanchez, who rocks his outsized theorbo to the rhythm of baroque melodies. Her faithful and poetic shadow, he creates a kind of musical mirror effect, in which the body of Ana Pérez and the majestic double-necked lute enter into symbiosis. Here flamenco emerges from a previously unknown source, conjured up by their unified movements. A new artist and one to watch.
