A HYPNOTIC TRANSCULTURAL WORK, IN REMEMBRANCE OF A BOLD, COSMOPOLITAN FESTIVAL.
Shiraz, a city of sun and scents, and in the 1970s, home to the forward-looking Shiraz Festival of Arts. Inspired by this international event, choreographer Armin Hokmi has created a contemporary, personal and intimate work. Born in Bushehr, Iran and now living between Berlin and Oslo, Armin Hokmi, surprised and delighted audiences with this mesmerising work at the Montpellier Danse Festival in 2024. Created in conversation with seven dancers from different countries and traditions, it is a tribute to the vibrant spirit of Shiraz’s legendary arts festival. This piece bridges cultures and transcends history, time and space to bring us an intense and poetic experience.
