AN OUTSTANDING PROGRAMME CELEBRATING THE POWER AND SWIFTNESS OF MOVEMENT.
Forty years ago, William Forsythe took over the reigns of the Frankfurt Ballet. His first major work for the company, Artifact (1984), marked the beginning of an artistic venture that would revolutionise choreography and contemporary dance, opening it up to other disciplines. The OnR Ballet looks back at this revolution, bringing together for the first time three pieces created by Forsythe in the 1990s: the hypnotic Quintett (1993) with music from Gavin Bryars, the virtuosic Trio (1996) with music from Ludwig van Beethoven (a 2025 addition to the company’s repertoire), and lastly, the magnetic Enemy in the Figure (1989) with music from Thom Willems.
