MARÍA MUÑOZ AND BACH, A GREAT CLASSIC BECOMES A FAMILY AFFAIR
Over twenty years, María Muñoz has forged a surprising symbiosis between herself and Johann Sebastian Bach’s Well Tempered Clavier. More than just dancing to the music, Muñoz IS the music, exalting its preludes and fugues with the vivacity, depth and elegance of her movements. Over time, her perfectly calibrated dance has evolved to reflect changes in her body and artistic sensibility. Just when age threatened to force her to abandon the solo that has become so much part of her life, the Théâtre de la Ville asked her to imagine a family version, with her partner, Pep Ramis, himself an artist and choreographer, and their three children, Martí, Paula et Sam, all now professional artists. A work that melds art with life and crowns an impressive career.
