ISRAEL GALVÁN, LOS MELLIS DE HUELVA

EXPLORES HIS ROMANI ROOTS, WITH A HAND FROM TWO PALMEROS
Once again Israel Galván flouts the conventions of his art. This time by placing the palmas, normally relegated to the background at flamenco concerts, front and centre stage. Israel Galván and the duo Los Mellis de Huelva, twin brothers with surprising stage presence, form an extraordinary trio, producing a veritable arsenal of sound and rhythm. By retracing his Romani roots, the Seville native honours his mother, dancer Eugenia de los Reyes, who constantly told him to practice his bulerias, in other words, to fall in line with tradition. During this remarkable evening, he will finally grant her wish and perform his bulerias in public for the very first time! Yet this performance is anything but traditional, El Dorado calls us to explore new horizons.
