A PLAYFUL AND INCISIVE LOOK AT 50 YEARS OF PORTUGUESE PARLIAMENTARY DEBATE.

Script for a possible country explores the utopia of the 1974 Carnation revolution and its ongoing ramifications. Two incredible actors take us on a journey through fifty years’ worth of Portuguese parliamentary transcripts. By turns they become officials, parliamentarians, speakers, men and women from the left and the right, exposing the issues that have torn apart parties, families and individuals. Simultaneously irreverent clowns and concerned citizens, they whip out controversial topics like trump cards, from the depenalisation of euthanasia to the besieging of parliament in Lisbon. They are two individuals and an entire defiant population, and they have been winning over audiences throughout Portugal since 2023 with this incisive and joyful call to take control of our lives
