August 15, 2021, Kabul fell abruptly into the hands of the Taliban, leaving Afghanistan under their rule. At the time, Caroline Gillet, journalist with radio France Inter, created the podcast Inside Kaboul, focusing on two young Afghani women. Their precious stories have been made into an animated film, illustrated by Kubra Khademi, visual artist, performer and feminist, who was forced to flee Afghanistan in 2015. With this new immersive installation, Gillet and Khandemi take us into an Afghani living room, created with video filmed by an anonymous team in Kabul. Here we can hear the voices of Afghani women as though they were sitting right beside us. Among them, Raha, who warns us of the violence and the repressive exclusion of women from public life, and urges us to fight for our own freedoms.
