FROM SPORT TO POLITICS, THE THRILLING STORY OF KATSIARYNA SNYTSINA
In a place that is part gym, part TV studio, olympic athlete Katsiaryna Snytsina recounts how she was targeted by the Lukashenko regime for speaking openly about the rigged 2020 presidential election and her homosexuality. Like the founders of the Belarus Free Theatre, the basketball star is now forced to live in exile in London. On stage she replays her last match, telling the story of her years as a professional athlete, far from political concerns. Spurred on by DJ Blanka Barbara’s driving soundtrack, her energy and freedom are all the more striking given the warning her story brings us about the fragility of our democracies.
