EMILY TERNDRUP Offspring (A Modern Frankenstein)
Featuring Emily Terndrup • IRELAND
CHILDREN OR ART? A DANCER’S LIFE EXPOSED BY ROMEO’S JULIET.
In her brilliant solo, Irish dancer Emily Terndrup blends personal confession with broader reflections on the lives of female dancers. Should motherhood drive away artistic creation? To create, or to procreate? That is the question. One that Emily Terndrup tackles with sincerity and self-deprecating humour. With the help of Dr Frankenstein, she analyses the state of mothers/artists, who face monstrous choices on a daily basis. The work has met with resounding success, winning three awards at the Dublin Fringe Festival. This piece is also being performed as part of Focus Ireland.
