A BURST OF POST-FOLKLORIC MUSIC AND DANCE, BORN BY THE SEA, IN THE HILLS OF IRELAND.

“I have always dreamed of making a dance theatre work to one complete music album.” says Michael Keegan-Dolan. The album he chose was one which revolutionised Irish music: The Bothy Band’s legendary 1975. Seven dancers took on this masterpiece, fifty years after its release. With his previous work, the incredible MÁM, Michael Keegan-Dolan affirmed his renewed interest in Irish traditions. At that time, he established his company Teaċ Daṁsa on the mountainous heights of An Daingean (the Dingle Peninsula), the rockiest region of the West of Ireland, where Gaelic is more often heard than English. Drawing raw energy from their environment, the choreographer and his superb troupe bring the full range of the album’s emotions to the stage, giving audiences of 1975 - Naoi Déag Seachtó Cúig a glimpse of the pure essence of free, rebellious Ireland.
