ABDULLAH MINIAWY
WORLD MUSIC • EGYPT
“CRYING IN THE HANDS OF STRANGERS” IS A HEARTFELT REFLECTION ON LONELINESS IN OUR CURRENT DAY.
With this unique, new work for the Théâtre de la Ville, Abdullah Miniawy weaves together whistling, strings, minarets and bells to create fragile symphonies; fragmented maqams that drift across baroque textures. A call to come together in today’s fractured world where humanity is still struggling to catch its breath by the light of screens.
