Christine Zayed revisits Arabic musical traditions with her qanun, vocals and an organic approach to rhythm, opening up new resonances and blending existing songs with original compositions. Inspired by the maqam and contemporary poetry, her music creates a space where the past comes into dialogue with the present. Through subtle arrangements, great freedom of interpretation and improvisation, each piece becomes a musical meeting place. In this spirit, she brings to the stage with her ney musician Moslem Rahal, whose use of breath perpetuates and transforms tradition.
