NAWROUZ Persian New Year
CELEBRATING AN ANCIENT FESTIVAL WITH MUSIC AND POETRY.
In Persian, Nawruz means “new day”. This three-thousand-year-old festival celebrates the return of Spring and the eternal fertility of the earth. Rooted in Zoroastrianism, Nawruz is now a new year celebration for the cultural heirs and descendants of the Persian empire. From India to the Balkans, around 300 million people celebrate Nawruz, each with local traditions and lore. A symbol of peace and communion, this celebration is an opportunity to dance and create together. Uyghur, Uzbek, Kazakh and Afghan artists join forces for a day of concerts and workshops, celebrating spring with collective joy and intercultural dialogue.
Featuring artists from Uzbekistan, Kazakstan, Afghanistan, Iran, Uygur communities and more.
