Aria da Capo SÉVERINE CHAVRIER
Featuring Guilain Desenclos, Victor Gadin, Adèle Joulin et Areski Moreira
AGITATO AND AD LIB, THE BRAZEN CHARM OF FOUR TEENAGERS AT THE START OF THEIR MUSICAL CAREERS.
As a cheeky nod to their venerable art, these young people wear old-man masks as they conscientiously rehearse a melody from the classical repertoire. A trombonist, singer and pianist, violinist and bassoonist, their names are Guilain, Adèle, Areski and Victor. Under the masks they soon throw off, the lively vivacity of these budding instrumentalists contrasts with the rigorous discipline demanded by their training. Séverine Chavrier gives them an outlet to express what they can’t contain, their impulsive desires, their need to turn things upside down and indulge in their wildest urges. In this original mix of music, video and theatre, full of life and humour, the musicians let off steam with fury and insolence. The result is at once off-beat, funny, impassioned and engaging.
