Simone de Beauvoir Deux trois choses qu’elle nous dit d’elle

« OH, IT’S MARVELLOUS TO BE EIGHTEEN! »

Marie-Armelle Deguy draws on the memoires and early writings of Simone de Beauvoir to bring to life her childhood and adolescence. The script is Beauvoir’s own words, full of images and sensations. On stage, the story unfolds through the eyes of child, then a young woman, brimming with wonder, emotion and desire for freedom. This is where it all began: with the discovery of the world, the body, reflection and rebellion. Then, from the sidelines, we hear a deeper voice – that of a woman looking back. Shifting between past and present, we seem to hear the voice of Beauvoir herself.
