Dynamic duo

Bringing these two virtuosos on the same stage is a must! They both are the heirs to the greatest masters. Initiated to rubab by his father, the Afghan Homayoun is none other than Ustad Mohammad Omar’s nephew also known as “the rubab Sultan”. The Iranian Sorab is the son of composer Kaykhoshro Pournazeri, famous for creations Shams Ensemble, the very first tanbur ensemble which revolutionized Persian tradition in 1993. Sorab is amongst its leaders today. They are both equally open-minded and live their tradition with the desire to confront it with other kinds of music, coming from other continents, because: “To last, music needs to stay alive”.
