ADI BOUTROUS
Nature of a Fall • A THÉÂTRE DE LA VILLE ORIGINAL

IN THE FACE OF THE INFINITE CYCLE OF HUMAN VIOLENCE, THE DESIRE FOR A UNITED WORLD WITH A COMMON DESTINY.
Throughout his works, Adi Boutrous has deepened his style and leaned into his originality. He explored the difficulties of sharing territory in One More Thing, an alternative approach to masculinity in Submission, and a new kind of ethics in Reflections. With Nature of a Fall, Boutrous examines the existential contradiction of humanity, torn between our destructive instincts and a desire for shared harmony. Six dancers confront this duality in a demanding and physical piece, embodying the idea that renewal can only come after destruction, as in autumn, when the leaves must fall before the tree revives. Nature of a Fall regenerates our capacity to hear each other and our hope for consolation.
