SPEECH BECOMES MUSIC WHEN SEVEN GREAT ACTORS GIVE VOICE TO THE UNFATHOMABLE MYSTERY OF WATCHING A CHILD GROW UP.
A couple in love. One day, 1+1 = 3. A child is born, there she is, wanted, coddled, surrounded by her parents and others. She is protected from the woes of the world, given so much it becomes suffocating. The child grows up, perhaps not quite in the way they wanted. She slips from their grasp a little more each day, resists them. Then the child rebels, can no longer stand her parents and their compromises. She breaks out of her cocoon and flys off to discover the world, to learn to live and to love in spite of it all. David Lescot takes us back to childhood with a spoken-word musical, where words weave melodies to the rhythm of life. A choir chants this elliptical story as it travels between the near past, the unfolding present and a distant future.
