WAR, FLIGHT, JUSTICE, LOVE: FIFTEEN EXCEPTIONAL ACTORS TAKE ON THIS EPIC PIECE WHERE CARE BECOMES AN ACT OF JUSTICE.

An abandoned child, a woman in flight. Croucha crosses mountains and faces hardships to save the infant child of an assassinated governor. Years later, the biological mother returns for her child. These two mothers are confronted with an unexpected judge: Azdak, a man from the margins who has become a magistrate, and who bends the rules in the name of justice. Written at the end of the Second World War, Bertolt Brecht’s play carries within it the fractures of our history. In collaboration with the Théâtre de la Ville Troupe, this performance expresses the full power of this profoundly human work, which investigates the notion of kindness: how does it come about, what does it really mean? With his funny and politically conscious team, Emmanuel Demarcy-Mota reminds us of a fragile truth: it is not what we have that counts, but what we take care of.
